Ahead of WRF’25 CE-RISE held its annual event on 1 September 2025 in Geneva. Gathering 40 participants from across the globe, including industry actors and policy makers, our partners shed light on the global outlook on DPP adoption.
Francesco Barilli, Research Scientist (Empa) discussed the transition from linear to circular economy and how RE-indicators can support establishing circular strategies.
Sónia Cunha, Assistant Professor at Leiden University explained how to leverage digital product passports (DPPs) for the calculation of socioeconomic and environmental (SEE) impacts. More precisely, how the CE-RISE system will integrate the DPP for impact calculation to provide users with a streamlined process reducing data gathering and calculation burden while providing comparable and standardised SEE results.
Andreas Wade, Director Sustainability & ESG at Viessmann Climate Solutions introduced how they combine green energy, circularity and digitalisation and how CE-RISE will enable further RE-strategies for the company.
Riccardo Boero, Senior Scientist at NILU demonstrated the importance of data interoperability and our flexible CE-RISE approach.
Cosing the presentations, Rembrandt Koppelaar (EcoWise) introduced CIRPASS-2 to the audience.

Moving onto the panel discussion moderated by Cristina Guerreiro, CE-RISE Project Coordinator (NILU), Catherine Chevauché (Circular Economy Director, Veolia, Reyna Ubeda (ITU-T SG5 Engineer: Environment, EMF, Climate Action and Circular Economy, ITU), Colette van der Ven (Founder & Director, TULIP Consulting), Maxime Furkel (Head of Government Affairs, Lexmark) addressed questions from the audience as ell as regulatory alignment, and the perspectives of both large corporations and SMEs.
