CE-RISE project partner CSCP and CircularTech Forum joined forces to deliver an in-depth webinar on the role of standards for digital product passports.
What to expect
As the Digital Product Passport (DPP) becomes a cornerstone of the EU’s Circular Economy strategy – driven by the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) and upcoming delegated acts – a critical question is emerging: how do we ensure that the standards underpinning DPPs are coherent, interoperable, and ready for real-world implementation?
This webinar brings together leading voices from EU standardisation bodies, international initiatives, web standards communities, and industry practitioners to take stock of where DPP standardization stands today. Attendees will gain a clear picture of the current landscape, from CEN/CENELEC and UNTP to W3C, market-driven solutions, and an honest look at the open questions and gaps that still need to be resolved.
Beyond the landscape overview, the session is designed to spark meaningful dialogue between policy, standards, and practice. Through three focused keynote presentations and a moderated panel discussion, participants will explore how different standardisation layers interact, what interoperability challenges lie ahead, and how companies implementing DPPs today are navigating an evolving regulatory and technical environment. The webinar also serves as a conceptual warm-up for a deeper DPP side event planned for April, where these themes will be explored through concrete use cases.
