Michael Johnson

Dr. Johsnon is a lecturer within the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the University of Limerick and a researcher on a number of national and international projects. With 11 years of industrial experience, he has worked in a number of different roles, ranging from evaluation engineer to CAD software engineer. His Ph.D research combined elements of distributed autonomous mobile robotics, computer vision systems and string theory for robotic testbeds. Michael have lectured at national and international levels on a number of different electronic and computer engineering courses, including digital system, active circuit design, software programming and control/instrumentation technologies. His current research interests include the field of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and Digital Transformation, focusing on the integration of artificial intelligence, machine learning and other enabling digital transformation technologies in the WEEE recycling industry.
